Another year over, the Queensland competitive drifting calendar is a year round deal run by three different local tracks with three different promoters. Here we have the option of 4 to 5 practice events per month and also 2 or 3 competitions, we can’t complain!
This year was pretty full on, the top drivers lifted their game and some new people made a few upsets to make sure their names will be taken seriously on the battle tree. The year ended with Raceline’s Boxing Day Drift event being the “QLD Level 2 championships” which is pretty controversial to claim for a one off event but none the less there was some pretty intense action on track.
Race line runs a semi round robin style event where all drivers have 4 battles against a randomly drawn opponent, it gives drivers the chance to make up for a mistake or more ideally prove to the judges that they should be in the top four final. I think by the end of the series Rob White (350z) took the honours.
At Full Lock Motor Sport Park (Archerfield) the original elimination battle tree runs for the main events then some more driver based events fit in between the serious action. Throughout the series there were incredibly close events and after the season finished Paul Dean (s13) finished at the top of the table. 2009 was the first time in three years that raining QLD champion Danny Kenneally was left without a series win, and with more and more drivers taking podiums throughout the year 2010 is going to be the closest run

Ill leave this post with a few shots I got at the Boxing day event of John’s supra and Grant’s KE70 in the pits.

MOAR! MA61 plz
when its less ugly there will be more pics
MA61 with massive MKIs is a favourite of mine, man I love that wedge shape
i got a pair of SSR MKI’s 15×8.5′s and one’s buckled so once thats fixed it will have them on the front with some 195/55′s and my MKI’s 15×11′s on the rear with some dunlop FM901′s 215/60′s (such a hot tyre)… lower the front and then there will be pics ahoy
60′s? Thats a bit big in’it?
Looks win.
